TOP 5 ENGLISH SONGS (FEMALE)

1. Youth by Daughter
I have been in love with this song for as long as I can remember. I first heard it in 2013, and it has a special place in my heart.

2. Bad Dog by Neon Hitch
This song turns me into a WHOREEE oh my gosh I cannot even begin to describe how it makes me feel... I found it back in 2014 from an anime music video, never looked back.

3. My Heart Still Beats by Maria Mena
This is the song that inspired me to try song writing back in 2014 or 2015. It's almost indescribable how much of an impact Maria Mena's songs and writing have on my life.

4. Fingerprints by Katy Perry
When I was younger I used to be OBSESSED with Katy Perry, and this was the song that always made me dance in my head no matter where I was. Lyrics are also iconic.

5. girlfriend by Hemlocke Springs
I discovered this song recently through Tik Tok, and it instantly rose to one of my top songs ever. It's almost always in my head, and it's quite literally a poetic masterpiece.

TOP 5 ENGLISH SONGS (MALE)

1. Slow Dance With a Stranger by Danger Radio
My life changed after discovering this song. A literal hoe anthem with probably the best pre-chorus I have ever heard in my life. Also a very very underrated group, you NEED to hear it!!!

2. What Hurts The Most by Rascal Flatts
This song definitely has more sentimental value to it. It's a very emotional song, kind of like the male version of Youth tbh. Makes me wanna pound a wall and hate females.

3. You're So Creepy by Ghost Town
The MV is the original version, the 2013 revamp one is the better one in my opinion. I love to blast this song while I do school work so much. It's very rare I listen to trap music tbh

4. Curse of Curves by Cute is What We Aim For
Yet another hoe anthem... I feel this is a repeated process of the only kind of songs by males that I listen to lol. This song is a POEM masterpiece though. Just look at the lyrics!!!!

5. The Drug In Me Is You by Falling in Reverse
A classic emo song I would listen to on the bus all the time in middle school. The last chorus makes me want to yell the lyrics so badly. The reimmagined version is also so so so so good!!!

TOP 10 K-POP SONGS (NON-ULT GROUP)

1. Ditto by NewJeans
This song grabbed me by the throat and had me listening to it during the day and while I slept for days on end. OMG would def possibly be a first too, but the Ditto MV's made me cry so #1!!

2. TOMBOY by (G)-IDLE
Once I saw the teasers for this comeback I knew it was absolutely going to grab me by the throat. The rap on this though, I didn't like it at first but it got better lol

3. High Heels by Brave Girls
This was the first song I listened to by Brave Girls, and it's probably one of my favorite K-Pop choreo's to this day. High, high, high heels.... AHHHHHHH SO GOOD I CAN'T

4. Pretty Pretty by LADIES' CODE
Unfortunately I discovered them after the passing of two members, but after I listened to this song, I can't deny that I was blessed with some of the best vocals in 2nd generation K-Pop.

5. Closer by OH MY GIRL
One of the songs that got me into K-Pop altogether. I'm absolutely in love with the majestic and slow tune, I wish I could listen to this song again for the first time.

6. Power Up by Red Velvet
I love this song and Psycho so much, but personally, I find Power Up to be more memorable and has more positive vibes to it, plus I know the entire choreography a lot better.

7. Shy Boy by SECRET
This song was MEEEEEEE in 2016... I don't think I can describe my life in 2016 without bringing up this song and the dance. I've never met anyone who also knows this song PLZZZZ LISTEN TO IT!!!

8. TMI by HOT PLACE
Despite the MV having 1M views I've literally never met a single person that knows their music? The only album they ever released was probably one of the best coming-and-going albums in K-Pop!!

9. I Don't Know by Apink
I first discovered K-Pop through APINK's "No No No", but after I listened to them more, I fell in love with this song and the MV. I feel this MV's quality and plot is very underrated.

10. Bad Girl by woo!ah!
I remember this MV being on my recommended a few months after the release and I was so upset and how much I was missing out on this group... they instantly became one of my faves.

TOP 5 K-POP SONGS (SOLO)

1. The Rebirth by Jessi
When I tell you this song had me dancing down the street on my way to work... my shoulders were doing the choreography without even realizing it. It's angelic and beautiful...

2. TAIL by SUNMI
One of my favorite hoe anthems in K-Pop from a soloist. This has me hypothetically shaking my ass and doing a dance I'll regret in the near future. Cxntiest of the cxntiest soloists.

3. Dream of You by CHUNG HA
I debated between adding this one or Stay Tonight because honestly they are both my favorite soloist songs of 2020, but Dream of You gave me an ear gasm much more lol

4. FACE by WOOSUNG
I also debated between this one or Phase Me, since I sing Phase Me a lot more, but I think Face has such a good instrumental and definitely a song I would recommend more to people.

5. Sharp Objects by Sorn
I remember packing up a bunch of my manga for my basement in summer 2022 with this song blasting on repeat for hours at a time.

TOP 5 J-POP SONGS

1. I Hate Tragedies by Kiyono Yasuno
A very rare female rock J-Pop song, from a very underrated artist. Has to be one of my favorite songs from the Macross/Walkure girls.

2. Harmonize by ITOWOKASHI
I know this is technically an anime OP, but I didn't know that when I actively listened and sang it in 2017 (tbh I think I listened before it became an OP), so I'm putting it here.

3. Take My Chance DOLL$BOXX
The vocal talent in this group is INSANEEE... but they only have their recent album on Spotify which sucks, so here's their title track from their 2017 album on Spotify.

4. Dreamlike Climax by ℃-ute
This song is like a gift from the gods... and they also don't use Spotify at all, so here's another group under Hello!Project that I think is pretty good too.

5. Doctor by CHANMINA
I first heard this song around it's release, and both the song and the MV are just chefs kiss. CHANMINA is such a unique artist for Japan and very underrated.

TOP 10 ANIME OPENINGS (SONG)

1. forever we can make it! by THYME
Not a day went by in 2014 when where I wouldn't be singing this song... THYME would 100% be in my top 5 favorite J-Pop artists if they had released more music.

2. LOVE GOOD TIME by SpecialThanks
Every time I hear the beginning of this song I go absolutely feral. I don't even know how to explain it because it's just so good. It's been one of my top openings for years now.

3. Roar Towards Tomorrow by Kavka Shishido
I wasn't sure whether to do this song or The Rock City Boy, but this song has me singing along more. It isn't on Spotify, though, so I'll put The Rock City Boy there instead.

4. again by YUI
Another one of the classic 2000's anime OP's, I remember singing this one all the time as a kid, I think I even made English lyrics for it at some point. I also listened to a lot of covers.

5. STARTING NOW! by Nana Mizuki
I remember when this song first came out along with the anime, I had already been a fan of Nana but it only grew more after this song. The MV of the song is chefs kiss!

6. PUNCH☆MIND☆HAPPINESS by Happy Clover
I debated if this should go in the song or animation portion, but I think it's better here. To be honest I swear I have a cover of me singing this song somewhere in the grave.

7. Love? In Love? It's a Tyrant! by Wake Up, Girls!
I think I listened to this song so much when it first came out I eventually got tired of listening to it. Also the official MV of it is probably one of my favorite J-Pop MV's.

8. Fall in Love at Max Speed by Various Artists
This song and the OP animation were one of my favorites back in like 2016, although I didn't listen past the TV-version very often.

9. Connect by ClariS
This is another song I discovered through Soundcloud, although I knew it from Madoka Magica previously. One of my top anime OP listened to songs on Spotify.

10. PURE PARE-DO by Various Artists
I wrote English lyrics for this song yearsss ago, the OP brings me back to my 2015 days of starting voice acting and really getting into anime and stuff.

TOP 5 ANIME OPENINGS (ANIMATION)

1. Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches
This OP animation has had a grasp on me for yearsssss now. Even though it's so simple, the use of transitions with the witch hats and everything is just... beautiful and perfect...

2. Kakegurui OP 1
I also love this song a ton, but the animation has to be one of my favorites because it's interesting clash of colors and it's overall unique presense.

3. Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid OP
I also love this song a lot, but I think the OP is much more unique in a way that its simplistic and (I think) is much more known as a whole than the song itself.

4. Danganronpa 3: Despair Arc OP
The song was my ringtone for about two years, but the OP itself is also beautiful. I think I have a liking for anime OP's that are super simplistic with very little shading?

5. A Lull in the Sea OP 2
This anime has a special meaning to me, similar to my memories of Kokoro Connect, but overall this OP is absolutely gorgeous and it was one of the first I thought of.

TOP 5 ANIME ENDINGS (SONG)

1. Heart Realize by Tia
Another song I properly discovered through Soundcloud - definitely a classic that got me into trying to listen to endings more. I sang it a lot back in the day as well.

2. I Wanna Be by STANCE PUNKS
Soul Eater is probably the only anime that I know all of the opening and endings of, and honestly, it was hard debating which ending to put here. But I've listened to this one the most.

3. CANDY MAGIC by mimimemeMIMI
I discovered this song through a Soundcloud random playlist, and to be honest it's probably one of the few anime openings I still actively listen to today (other than the ones above).

4. Sentimental Crisis by halca
I don't think I knew this was an anime opening when I had first listened to it, or maybe I did. But when I made this list I didn't know. Anyway, I love this song tho lol

5. SPLASH FREE by STYLE FIVE
Yet again, I debated on if this should go into the animation or song section, but the only part I like about the animation is the part at the disco, and I like the song overall lol

TOP 5 ANIME ENDINGS (ANIMATION)

1. Nisekoi Season 2 ED 1
To be honest this is the first ED that came into my head, and I think it's very cute, definitely worth a ranking somewhere. However, it's also not on Spotify...

2. Gi(a)rlish Number ED 1
I love the creativity in this ending, especially how they made them small and play on audio equipment. 100% an underrated opening. So underrated none of the songs are on Spotify.

3. The Familiar of Zero F ED 2
It's very memorable and I love it so much, it shows a cute side of Louise. Unfortunately it's not on Spotify, so here's one of the OP's of The Familiar of Zero instead.

4. Fruits Basket Season 2 ED 2
I love the art overall. The slow transitions, the acoustic guitar, it's just too good. Too good.

5. My Hero Academia Season 2 ED 1
To be honest I'm a little biased since I love this AU (it's one of my faves of Bakugou and Uraraka), and I love the art in it, even though it isn't really animated.

TOP 5 ANIME INSERT/OST SONGS

1. Love Song from Tamako Market
THIS SONG, SCREAMINGGGG GOD I LOVE IT SO MUCH... I've listened to this song so many times I literally cried once it was released on Spotify. Can't even put it into words

2. Ding! Ging! Dong! from Yamada and the 7 Witches
I know the dance for a lot of parts of this song by heart. No joke. I wish they did more insert songs in the OVAs of this anime tbh. Unfortunately, it's not on Spotify :( so here's another song I like.

3. Bonds of Promise from Beyond the Boundary
I haven't heard this song in SO long and listening to it again after so many years reminds me of how much I loved it back in like 2016. Not on Spotify so here's a song I like.

4. Fluffy ☆ W Strawberry from Astarotte's Toy
Although the anime is very questionable, and ofc the title has strawberry in it, I like the song a lot as an insert song. A very basic and cute idolish song.

5. From Me to You Too from Danganronpa 2
Even though it's technically not an anime song, I wanted to include it since I love the song a lot. It's so basic but I love the voice and the instrumental lol

TOP 5 SONGS FROM IDOL/MUSIC ANIME

1. Please Mary from Aikatsu Stars!
I have loved Aikatsu Stars since 2016 and no song from the series has a grip quite like this one. I have like 100ish listens to other songs, and this one has over 450. Top song fr.

2. GIRAFFE BLUES from Macross Delta
God, this song is a blessing from the heavens. It hits me in my feels every time I listen to/sing it. You need to portray so much emotion when singing this song, it's just beautiful...

3. Marble Make up a-ha-ha! from PriPara
Makes me wanna pant like a dog and dance. The song isn't on Spotify (so dumb bc many other songs are), so here's my second fave.

4. Go! Go! Maniac from K-On!
There are a lot of songs I like from K-On, but this one is probably my favorite. I think about the instrumental of this song pretty frequently.

5. 1000% Love from Uta No Prince-sama
I was never really into male idol animes, and this is probably one of the very few I've seen, but this one definitely has some great songs in it. A favorite for sure.
